The Bowline Sea Anchor is a very simple and efficient fishing and boating tool. When fishing reefs or fishing plastics in certain situations, the drift between current and wind can be too fast to be able to fish effectively. In some cases you might anchor up, but for the majority of times you will be better off deploying a sea anchor. A sea anchor is conical in shape and effectively acts as an under-water windsock channelling water through a small hole, creating drag and slowing the drift to a pace that makes fishing achievable. In an emergency situation, they can also be used to slow the boat’s drift and keep the bow into the wind discouraging the vessel from rolling and pitching. This will also help the vessel cover less ground before help can get to you. There are three sizes available, the small is suitable for boats to 4.5m the medium is suitable for boats to 6m and the large is suitable for boats up to 7m.
